What do you think its worth?

I noticed a 84 250R near my home today, so I pulled in there, but no one was home and it was sitting outside, so I figured I'd take a look. All the fenders are broken, front tire flat, chain rusted solid, no carb, engine seized up, no spark plug in hole, tires dry rotted, seat ripped, the whole thing looked like a mess and the frame was really rusty. Next time I go by there I'm going to ask if he'll sell it and how much, but I'm firguring 50-75$. I did not have my camera with me, so no pics, but just a rough idea, what do you guys think it could be worth?

I found an air cooled R that was beat and put away wet like the one you are describing right through the block. Needs new paint, tires, fenders, bearings, and seals. I dont know condition the engine is in though. Next time I see the guy I'm gonna hit him up on it.
I'd start at a max of $50, especially since the engine is froze.

50$ buys a lot of garbage

you have to look at it in terms of parts. See what all parts are good on it and figure up what you would pay for those parts.

    I'd go 50 too

It sounds to me like he better give you $50 to haul it away! I'd keep looking.

Chris is spot on with his thinking.

Don't offer the guy any $$ at all, just ask what he intends to do with it and say you'll take it off his hands, he may just intend to chuck it anyway.

Seems your doing him the favor by hauling it away, if you get a few free parts off it, then it was well worth the effort.

Also.......look around his property, get a feel for what the guy is into, what he may need, maybe you have and can trade junk even up?

He may (doubt it though for some reason) be a lead to other freinds that have trikes too, so make sure you ask!

Offer no money, he may want it off his property. Some people dont care for things and just let them rot. My uncle done this to a perfect 62 Chev Impala. He let it rot to the ground.

Well, I've delt with this guy before. He was selling two 85 Big Reds a couple summers ago, wanted $1100 each. Me and my dad told him they were worth mabey $600 tops, and they were. Rusty, busted fenders, tires dry rotted. Then he gave us hell and said that he could get that much out of them by going to Buffalo, so we told him whatever, you'll never see that money around her. We were going to buy one of them if he would go down any, but whatever. I guess we'll see how this one goes....
