james.... id be willing to rebuild that motor for ya if u want me 2. altho if i was to rebuid that motor u would have to buy the piston or send me the cash to buy it for ya. and send it all to me so i can take it and have it honed. this is just a offer. i can rebuild it perfect for you. all you would have to do is pay for the parts and shipping. im tired of seeing people diss a newb so id be willing to build it for you. if u want me to just say so and i will. i have a buddy that has a 175 in mint shape just needs a pull start. i may have parts that he can hook me up with if nesserary.

I would also offer to rebuild it, but shipping the engine up to me would cost more.

I wasn't going to say anything...

You need to at least dig around the bolock until you find enough ring material to go around the top ring circuit AND until you find enough aluminum to piece back together the piston skirt. If you can not do this, you need to break it down further to make sure you have a clean start.

Otherwise, buy a used engine. It would cost you about the same as rebuilding this one I bet.

Me either, but debris in my transmission would be the least of my concerns if I had case damage... Thats all I was saying...

james if u wanna find parts u gotta have connections. one thing im wondering tho, wtf are you going to do. i mean getting parts is 1 thing, installing them is another. are you gonna do it yourself? or are you gonna have a shop do it? cause whatever way u do this your gonna have to dish out some cash if u want to continue to ride this trike. rebuild it wont be cheap, actually you would be better off buying a used motor that runs if u can find one. i can get 1 but my buddy wont sell me just the motor. he said i can have the whole trike for 300 and all it needs is a pull start. runs and its in mint shape. if u need parts i might be able to help but i make no promisses that im going to get it.

why buy a new motor if this one is rebuildable?
thats the attitude that makes those lil turds parts non-existant.

for gaskets, check a EBAYER called ACJRACING ( he says he can get gaskets for anything .)

Ebay is your friend for parts. as for crank bearings, try ALLBALLS, and for a rod kit, maybe hotrods or something.

Hes already got connections for his gaskets

Btw, the top end is only 3 gaskets, shouldnt be that hard to install.

I am glad to see that all is not lost. James I would search for another engine first. It seems its cheaper to replace those than rebuild. That beinng said, You will know what you have if you rebuild. Send it to a member or a shop and have them take care of it. The bike looks like it is in nice shape so rebuild it and ride.
