    Spark arrester

ok, so how can i put one on to go to the dunes?
    i have a DG silencer on my 84 R.
is there a way to make them think it has an arrester? like fool them? or do i really need one?

where to get one, or do i need a whole different silencer?

I have no idea if it will work for ya, but i know cobra makes something called a "sparky" that is like an add on spark arrester that is added to your current one. I wouldn't recommend "tricking them." If you could somehow pull your silencer apart and ad some sort of fine mesh screen over the opening, i think that would do.

to pass the DB test, well, steel wool helps for that!
    but, heres a dumb question.

how do i tell what kind if DG silencer i have? it came with he bike, along with the headpipe. im gettin a camera for Xmas, so soo, Pics wont be a probem. but i cant supply any right now.

and will the arrester reduce DB levels at all? the noise doesnt bother me, but it probably bothers the people around where i ride.

mabe their worried you might melt the sand into glass, and that in turn might hurt someone when they take a spill and get impaled by it

You can find out what model you have by going to DG's home page and searching for the model they offer for your bike. That will tell you what exhaust you have.
