cheapest way to ship a frame.

The price varies greatly on ebay when it comes to shipping frames. I see anywhere from $25 to nealry $100. Which company is the cheapest and is it best to box it or just wrap with shrink wrap.

I'm looking for a 350x frame.. either that or I 'll have to send the spare one I have out to have a few cracks repaired and a mount welded back on. possibly even have some gussets welded inas well.

any tips? or anyone here capable of welding and fabbig up an oil cooler mounting bracket? for me fairly cheap I'll post a pic later this moring.

Best case senerio of me is someone that has a frame and some welding skills so I wont have to ship a frame all over the country.

Also... anyone know the best areas of the frame to gusset up so It wont crack again?

I was always told the 86s did not have issues with cracks like the 85s. They already had extra gussets compared to the 85. I am surprised your extra frame had cracks. I know the previous owner payed good money for that frame to be in good shape. Brapp can weld...

    Question Looking for advice?!?!?!?!?

Well so can I it's but a frame is a bit too big to sneak into work for some quick reapiars.

and the other obstacle is the spare frame I ahe is missing the center moutning point for the cooler (the center point along the edge) I believe this is also one of the airbox vents under that tab as well.

    only pic I have

the spare 86 frame is also starting to crack back by the seat latch. and I do not have the proper tools to do it here at the house.

I called DHL the other day on shipping a tecate frame, Gave measurements and weight and it was only $13, they pick up too. You can wrap the frame.

chris, im really sorry about that frame. I was sure it was in good shape. The seat area is probably the easiest place to weld and that mount cant be that hard.

Id say fix the one you have and run in. My 250r frame that I got pc'd had to have some work done to it and its good to go still.

FedEx told me last time I tried to ship a frame that they can no longer take them if they're just wrapped in plastic. They have to be packed in cardboard.

just thought I would bump this thread... Louis helped me out by saying take it to a ups distribution center.

I wrapped the sharp points in my frame in shop towels...and then saran wrapped the entire frame.

Brought it to the ups distribution center... it was 25-28 bucks or so to ship cross country.

It didn't hurt that I flirted with the black woman so she'd take about 8 inches off the length, but still, not a bad deal.

It makes shipping frames not so much of a hassle.

Works everytime. I'm sure the flirting didn't hurt either.

When I got my frame off of ebay, thats how the seller shipped it to me, shrink wrapped, Title, stuffed up the main tube in a zip lock bag.. But it came USPS, I guess that's why it cost close to $50 to ship
