There are a couple years of an XL 500cc cylinder that work on the 350X but I hear it isn't that reliable. I also heard about an Ascot top end being used WITH machining, not sure about reliability.
I think I'm having the same problem. Too much rump (200lbs) and not enough thump.
I'm gonna go with a Powroll 430 kit OR just a HC piston, lightened flywheel, cam, exhaust, porting and carb mods to achieve nearly the same results (if that is in fact possible.....)
I want to keep mine as reliable as stock but lots more torque and useable power.
