    1988 polaris 250R-es TRAILBOSS 2X4 lighting help

    ok on the battery box it says that if you disconect the battery while the bike is running the lights will burn out ?? the bulb in it is burned out and i dont have a battery yet either but the bike runs great

    HERES the question
    If I put a brand new light bulb in it is it going to burn out And is the bike going to be able to power a light ????? thanks for the help

    yes.... if there is no batt in a polaris kiss your bulb goodbye!

    Yup, you need a battry in them old polaris, or it will burn the light, seen it many a time.

    Theres no voltage regulator for the lightling circuit, so the battery acts as the buffer. I have no idea why Polaris continues to make their bikes this way, but they do.
