    ==Restoring Plastics==

    Hi,

    I have a blue Yamaha DX 225 and the plastics are a right mess; looks like someones tries to sand them down with the most corse abbrassive they could find. There is also a crack on one of the plastics by the fuel tank.

    Is there anyway you can get them painted without the paint cracking (I guess plastic flakes easily due to the flexible movement)?

    Ive tried looking for new plastics but cannot find any!

    If the sand marks that someone has already put on them are deep, this may take some time. But, here is an excellent thread on wet sanding plastics.

    I would try this before I painted them.
