Question 1985 250R what is it worth

Sorry, I posted this inadvertently in the riding forum. Did not know how to move it.

I have a shot to buy this locally. The guy is asking $1500, however he says it needs a carb kit before it will run? No way I'm buying something that don't run. Here is a link to the only picture he sent me. What do you think a fair offer is being as though it don't run? He is the original owner, and the tire are original.

The link doesnt work? Its hard to say without a picture, but If it has decent plastic, good tires, bearings and such i would say anywhere between $1000-$1500 is fair!

well he says there is another guy thats interested that wants to hear it run too, so maybe, he'll clean up the carb and get it fired up. If it's all original, complete AND it runs, I would think it would be worth $1300-1500?

    Thanks for your input

If it runs, thats the kicker. My price as stated before (800-1000$) was without it running. Ive been told a couple of times that somethin only needs somethin small to run, only to find out ive been gypped (sp?).

If it runs and is tight then I say it would be worth it. There is a $200 seat on there.

Arrow worth it or not ?

I bought these two bikes awhile back ... the one with the bad seat I paid $500.00 for the other R is a 1 owner and came with all paperwork, spare top end assembly and still had the oem tires on it ... I paid $800.00 for it ... It is a matter of what you want to spend ... But things are cheaper here in the south also ... the bike with the bad seat was set up for flat track racing ... the other bike was all original ... I found the one with the bad seat in an old barn in the river bottoms here, and the other one I found sitting in the back corner of a farm shop.
