    tire replace

i recently acquired a 85 250sx. It seems to be very high geared. Must faster than my 87 big red. Anyway, I was thinking about replacing the worn out 22x11-8 with some 20x11-8's to get the gear ratio down. First question: Should I retain the stock size 22 inch tire up front or replace it with a 20 in as well. Second, should I retain the stock baloon style tires, or switch the rear to flat style like holeshots. I use this bike for basic trail riding, and fun out back.

    Welcome!!!
Leave the front stock size and switch to the 20s in the rear, You will gain more low end power and less top end speed. Also with the 20s you will gain some handeling due to a lower center of gravity. I like the holeshots it is a good all around tire.

thanks, I'm going to order up some new shoes for my trike and see how she likes the smaller holeshots out back with a new 22 up front.
