    Supreme Gas in an ATC

Has anyone ever heard of higher octane gas being a prob? I don't think so but this is a dispute between me and a friend of mine. Thanks.

Some bikes require higher octane..like race gas.. due to there modifications and compression..So I would guess it could be a problem for some people.

I'm talking stock with just supertrap muff and k&n. And what I'm getting at is wether or not running super unleaded from the gas pump is hazordous to a wheeler's health in any way. I don't mean performance. I just figure it is cleaner.

I think the most performance you will get out of it is running a 93oct even then it wont be mutch.. but defiantly better than regular 87oct

Well as I stated in my orig post, a friend and I have been arguing about various opinions we have heard about using anything other than regular in small engines. I have always used supreme. Outboard motor, 3 wheeler, 4 wheeler, weed eater.......he says he has heard from various people that you shouldnt do so due to some idea about it burning hotter and hurting the engine somehow. I was just wondering what yall's opinion was. Again we are not talking about performance improvements. Just engine life/maintenance.

well yes it is kinda true .. most older engines required leaded fuel.. witch good luck finding that these days.. that was mostly back in the late 60's early 70's. I can remember my dad dumping lead additive in his old race sleds in the mid 70's. I run 93 in my boat, weed wacker, chainsaw..and If I have any old race gas left over, I don't hesitate to dump it in any one of them and burn it up..never had a problem with any one of them ..personally I think my weed wacker loves 112oct and klotz..

No, running supreme will not hurt your engine. But in most cases it's just not needed.

I know for some small engines, it is not good. I have a 2006 Yamaha 150 Four Stroke outboard on my bassboat. It is a 4 cyl. and I have been told by lots of people and my dealer and the owner's manual that you should only run 87. It has something to do with carbon buildup if you use the higher octane. I run 87 in everything. 3 wheelers, mower (commercial ZTR Exmark), truck. Unless you have a vette or Ferrari, 87 is all you need. Especially with gas prices the way they are.
