    Stock R's compression ratio is only 8:1. Racing gas Above 93 octane will cause these bikes to run really rich, even jetting changes will not be worth the extra money for race gas. I can jet with the best of them and noticed decreased performance with race gas in stock 85 ' 86 250r's
    92 or 93 pump gas and rejet 2x a day sometimes and you will be a happy man!!! 1 move up or down on the needle clip is like night and day!!!!

    a motor normaly makes the most power when useing the lowest octane with out pinging
    80s......185 atc, Yamaha tri-moto 200, 85 200x with tons of work
    90s......89 Suzuki quad racer 250 (raced 250 A class for 6 years, late 90s.. custom framed 250x with long travel shocks and a built 350x motor.... built Honda 110
    00s...... chomeoly framed 350 RX with all the goodies (thanks to my bro)
    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

    I don't think anyone realizes the the octane levels in fuel have dropped about 13-16 points over the last 30 years. At one point in time 100 octane was regular fuel. De-Leading the fuel made the significant drop to todays fuels.

    my uncle still dumps mothballs in his tank from time to time. i'm kinda curious as to what this octane boost will do.

    pirogue, just go to that loves on 415 and get your premium. make sure to go to pump ten...as it's noticably faster than the others. lol.
