    I can't get my 79 started

I got my 79 110 finished. I got it running for about 15 secs. then it died. The spark plug is wet, it has spark. I pulled it out, pulled the motor slowly and it sparked. How do you set the timing? You line up the silver side of distributer or the rusty side of (pics enclosed) to the black box with F lined up the timing hole. I also need to put a washer on it.
It has a 84 motor in it because my cousin pulled the 79 motor out and put in the 84. So the 79 has a 84 setup for now.
I also posted a pics of both of them.

Pretty much all you have to do is make sure the "O" mark on the cam sprocket is lined up with the mark on the head at the 9 o'clock position when your "T" mark on the generator is lined up with the mark at the 9 o'clock position on it's case.

See diagram below or go HERE for more picts. I just got my 79 running last Sunday night. My timing was off one tooth mark. Chain must have slipped on me during reassembly.

Will I got it running last night. I lined up the silver dots with F on the flywheel and it started right up. I don't think it made my neighbors happy last night, I started it up about 10:30 last night with no exhaust. Now I need to get my right rear tire fixed AHH! it has a hole in it.

Yep, and the valves don't tend to get sucked out due to lack of back pressure.
