    ohtsu/dunlop tire question

I have had a terrible time trying to locate a OEM replacement Ohtsu front tire for my 200x project, I know Dunlop has made a replica 23x8x11 but where is the best place to get one? Does it have a name like the P/V Ohtsu?

The original Ohtsu “Pro Vector” or “P/V” front tires were discontinued some time ago.. You will see them run across Ebay occasionally brand new but they generally bring between $150 and $300... Just depends on who is looking for one at the time.

Dunlop still produces the KT576 which was OEM for the front on the 85 ATC250R. Those generally run between $45 to $60 depending on which distributor you get them from.

If it's for your '87 X, this is the part number for the front tire: 44710-HA5-672AT. I'd try Service Honda or Honda Parts-Direct to see if they have it first. Otherwise, the Dunlop is really similar (unless you're going for a spot on restoration).

You can get the Dunlop here. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ront-Tire.aspx

The OEM Ohtsu 23x8x11, 23.5x8x11 and the optional replacement 24x8x11 are long gone from dealer stock. There may possibly be a dealer in the states with a couple still sitting on the shelf but good luck locating them! You can find them used, in like new condition, still mounted to the original rim on Ebay occasionally. There are a couple listed on there now but if you prefer brand new and aren’t doing a 100-point restoration…. Then the Dunlop KT576 is the cheaper option!

Depends on the year. For the 83-85, you're exactly right. I actually just bought one of these for my '83 R. Almost exact, including the sidewall tread pattern.

Dunlop is reputable, and I would consider them an equivilant on a total restore. I consider them more oem than aftermarket.
