Need definitive answer: 1986 350x rear caliper swap

What rear calipers FOR SURE swap with the 1986 350x? Please no guessing. I have the 1986 mounting bracket. Just need to find a cheap caliper that isn't frozen all to hell.

This bike is inching it's way towards the chopping block. Getting really, really sick of fighting with issues around every corner.

It's zero outside, I'm not gonna go try it.... You don't want a guess but I'm confident the 83-85 200X rears all fit as does the 86-87 200X and the 85 350X too. But you don't want a guess so I'll see you in 40 more degrees.....

I'm hoping a caliper off a newer bike will work actually. Something that's had less time to rot.

Thats the thing, you can buy 6 of them and only get 1 good one and 1 that can be rebuilt. Most of the ones I bought are junk.

I realize you want NO MODS so I'm not certain what works. The YZF does with some "egging out" of a hole or something, but didn't Jason find that a CR80 front caliper worked also? Search that one, IDK if it was a direct b o or not....

that was me that did the cr80 front caliper swap onto a 85 200x. it bolts rite up to the 200x bracket. will be the same on a 350x bracket. the cr80 even uses the same brake pads. get a caliper from a 2006 cr80 or crf150 they go cheap on ebay. i bought one for $26 for mine

the Yzf swap is for the 86250r if you get one from a 2003 or newer yz dirt bike you only have to egg the holes 2mm's. i did this swap to my 86trx250r.

I just bought a front caliper off a 1999 CR80 Big Wheel. Looks to be an identical part to the new 80's and the crf150. I'll update this thread after I get it.

    Thanks guys!

Is it the front or rear caliper that interchanges? I'm figuring the rear?

Bike front fits the trike rear. You can look at the pic and see it's the same part with a different color paint.

on ebay they sell new ones listing them for 300ex/400ex/350x. althought the cr80 ones are smaller and look cleaner if you dont need the parking brake cable set up.

Got the CR80 caliper and mounted it up. It wasn't in as good of shape as I was hoping but it's better than what I had by a mile. Had to let it soak a bit to get the sliders unstuck. Still not moving like they should but it's good enough for now. Gotta bleed it and it should be good for the trike rally at least.

Just wanted to post confirmation that they do in fact bolt right up using the stock 350x mount. I should have spent a little extra and for the one off the CR125F that was on there when I got this one. It was fifteen bucks more but only a yeard old.
