    81 250r or 86 250sx

I have a chance to buy either of these. I don't have the money to buy both at the moment. I'm told they both run great. The are not show winners but are in good working order. No busted plastics. Any pros or cons on these machines? If you had a choice which one would you pick up?

The r is faster, louder and a 2 stroke. The sx is nice, slower and a 4 stroke. They are both good machines. I have a 81 250R but I would possible pick the sx. What type of riding do you want to do?

I'm just looking to put around the yard. Not real fast but alot faster than my 125m will pull. Not looking to race at all.

For just puttin in the yard, the SX would be the better choice, unless your yard is a few acres and can make a track ?

if you were to take the bike out alot i would take the 250r but if you are just mainly riding around the yard to have fun the four stroke would be your best bet, thats my opinion

I've never ridden an R, though I'd like to. Most of my riding is in small areas, and in the woods, and my 250SX is awesome for that, and with the trailer hitch it has a good utility function. With limited space I'd go with the SX.
