Just wanted to get some input on tires that work well screwed for ice, for 10" rims.
The cheaper the better, but not too cheap, if you know what I mean. Just something that won't break the pocketbook.
I was thinking maybe some Turf-Tamers, something like that, but I'd like a nice flat profile, for the track we have here locally. I've not done it in quite a while, so I'm a little rusty at knowing what works and what won't. I'd like to stay at 18 or 20 inch tires like I have on my R right now.

I would think the fast trekkers would work pretty good, becuse they have a really flat profile. You can still buy the 18" blems for around $80 shipped.

There's only one good tire for ice racing and that is the Cheng Shin C826. It's flat profile, hard knobs to hold the screws, and dirt cheap. But, 20in is all you can get for a 10in rim, and 20s are no good for ice racing. Trust me.

I assume those would be the C826's, right.
They look pretty similar to what we used to run. A simple flat profile knobby with lots of room for screws.

They are the Chengs I was talkin about, they are 18/9.5/8. They work extremely well for me. They get traction on ice almost as well as running stock knobbies on pavement. Where exactly are you from in WI? I used to live there.

Well....I decided to run the screws to my Fast Trekkers.
I'm running the 18x11-10's, and a Dunlop "stocker" in the front.
The front pattern I think will be fine. For the rear, I ran 7 screws into the bar lugs, and 3 in all others, and one in every other small outer lug. I haven't had it on the ice with this set-up yet, so I'll find out soon how it worked out.

I run the C826's on mine also. I was told that you can't buy the anymore. But, If you want a set I know of a shop that bought what Parts Unlimited had left. Where in Wisconsin are you. I live in Fond du Lac.
