Dumb question: What is the purpose of a cool head?
-'86 ATC 250SX: No longer mine...Complete 350X front end, Corbra Megaphone system, 350X carb with UNI dual stage foam & outerwear bolted driectly up, Powroll/Rocky 260cc bore 10.5 to 1 compression piston.
It keeps you from making hasty decisions out of anger.
it has better waterflow to circulate the water for better cooling. it also has differant internal head or dome shapes for more or less volume. you can interchange "sizes" or cc'sOriginally Posted by bbechtel16
So the as the volume size changes it changes the compression ratio right? Does it simply replace the stock head? How does it cool better, more colant capacity than the stock head has?Originally Posted by MR ATC

How much doe cool heads cost and do they improve the performance :?: :?:
They improve performance to an extent. Im running a 21 now on around 108 octane. New ones run about $200 with 3 or 4 domes to choose from. I got mine of ebay real cheap (not sure why, must of just gotten lucky) they usually run about 120-150 on there. If you are a serious racer and want to get your motor dialed in perfect then they were built for you.
If your just a regular rider, do a little of everything, they really are not worth the money. Infact I might be looking to sell mine soon because Im re-porting n polishing and gonna have a factory head shaved and ported to match... (heheh factory look, but can keep up with powervalves)
