If i lay parts on an old crusty frame is that considered a build too? I usually like to post pics after I've actually put something together.
And that's the rest of the story. ~ Paul Harvey

Alot of your options depends on how deep are your pockets, how hard do you want to look and wether or not you will use used parts. NOS vintage 110 accessories pop up all the time, I have an exhaust or 2 and some other crazy parts that will attest to that. For wheels you have stock painted or chrome, Aluminum wheels and then you have older aftermarket or semi custom. Semi custom to me is the old one piece yamaha wheels which alot of old honda customs used since people didn't have to worry about their rim halves leaking. Also you have turbo wheels and several other unusual offerings. I have turbo wheels in some old pics on here. Also for exhausts, I can't even begin to count how many companies made 90\110 exhausts, Hooker headers, kereker, bassini, supertrapp just to name a few of the more popular ones off the top of my head. You have aftermarket frames, you have aftermarket cylinders and heads. You have dozens of places that made cams and the list goes on an on. Ebay has been a great place, believe it or not to find some of the old performance parts, and yes there are still many new pieces out there. There were thousands of these parts made way before honda made the 185s and 250r. How crazy do you want to get? I have a frame that is made from flat pieces of aluminum and weighs around 3 pounds bare. What direction do you want to go? Racer, Duner? The racers usually sat very low, for flat tracking anyway and had simple paint schems. The Duners were sort of dramatic with many crazy colors and lots of chrome and strokers most of the time for the big budget boys but still lots of chrome but not as big displacement for the more budget minded. You had lots of different aftermarket front ends, some steel, some aluminum and some chormoly and some even cast aluminum triples.

Now if you really want the old racer look, you would stick with the 3x100 hubs and use go kart rims and go kart tires, that's what the old flat trackers used and they even used those in the missle kits. The front tires were whatever racers could find or preferred, turf tamers or what have you. And the real old 90 racers used fiberglass fenders cause the old honda fenders were real cheap. Several companies offerend different fenders and there were even lo profile and wide profile fibergalss rear fenders, but try finding them. Wish I could luck into one of two of those old molds. Very few racers used the stock frames for long, they almost always cracked, so the aftermarket frames were the norm and it was not uncommon to see homemade frames, some being better than others. It's also a shame that durablue isn't making the old extended axles either or NASA for that matter. Those are pretty much golden if you could find them. Plastic and fiberglass tanks were seen about as often as metal tanks. And with the aftermarket frames, most companies made a racing version that put the rear end a good 3 or 4 inches closer to the ground than a standard chassis. Twist or thumb throttles seemed to be a rider preference and don't forget a wrist kill switch for that real racer look. Some racers made their own rear grab bars too, most with a lower rail so no one could get hooked behind and underneath. Some people ran nerfs which aren't that hard to fab if you start the nerf near the eninge mount and curve it down and out past the footpegs where they would attach to and sometimes go beyond. I guess you're trying for a little more modern look but I hope you realize that once the 185s and 250r came along, the 90\110 racers soon took a back seat and then disappeared. There was some racing of the older crates but the newer machines pretty much phased them out. Good luck with your restore. You should see pics of the old 90\110 racers and the open or unlimited class, really wild. Have fun.

I have it on my 110. Was loud when I got it but found out it had no packing in it? I put in the fiberglass packing and it sounds sweet. Nice rumble.

Runs on the outside of the frame. Nice setup for cheap $.

I will take some in about an hour and send them over. The paint wore off of the head pipe part fairly quick.

Thanks. I rebuilt it about a year ago. Two things left to do, paint the right side case cover and ceramic coat the header...
