Well after a couple stupid posts, realizing i sold parts i needed, and a couple hours work i've got the bug to get this thing together after about 9 months of nothing. Here's some pics from this evening, i got the rear end together, its a boss billet carrier, 85 sprocket hub (using 86X mounting bolts and a heavy chamfer on the sprocket), 86 swinger, 86 brakes, and a LS rear axle. It's a couple inches wider than stock, and i'm sure will sit a little higher once i get the shock mounted.

I plan to get all of the little detail pieces, motor mounts and pegs installed this weekend. The forks need rebuilt and some new boots then it should be ready for a test ride after i order the chain/sprockets, TC...

what size and brand front tire is that? your x 's rear end looks nice

The front tire (i have all 3 from when i bought it) is an ITP mudlite 24-8x11 and i hope i can make the front of the machine as presentable as the back once i get the whole rear setup the front is coming apart for a rebuild, new bearings, and some more detail work...

For those who like to see progress pics, i got some more stuff done to this thing in the past day or so. I installed the pegs, rear brake mechanism, rear caliper, corrected the fade nut, installed a bunch of nos grommets i bought a while back, put on the tail light, painted the oil cooler guard and a few other things.

I need to find a brake hose that will be long enough to work, install the 6 pack rack (old beat up one thats now black), get the shock pivot linkage, and paint/install the muffler.

Now i just need to get the rear end/shock wrapped up so i can wash all of the red paint dust off. I'm pretty happy with the way its coming together i just need to make the forks look as nice as the back, i'm thinking maybe some paint instead of trying to polish everything...
