ok so i finally took the 200x out for a rip today after getting it back from a retired old school mech. fisrt off before anyone goes off on a rant about this bike i will give props. out first, the bigest i guess is to "muddyx" who gave me the inspiration and offered a lot of threads in the past on this swap. So i say thanks and also tho the whole forum of such good information....keep it up
This project wasn't supposed to be, as i was actually looking for an '86 250 quadracer. but to no avail around here so it was south of the border and good ol ebay. once finding that these were way more tha i want to spend and actually the same if not twice as much in some case as they were new back in the 80's.
i found an 84 200x in micigan and had abuddy bring it home for me. the excitement was building when it arrived home ...then some diappointment as i am approx. 6ft tall and about 200lbs (38yrs old) i quickly realized that these were made for a 150lbs person... now what. to the internet and this site . i think the pics speak for themselves... keep in mind that this is not a total restoration. i may finish next winter but for now its time to have fun with it.
ok heres the low down 1984 200x with a complete 350x front end and a 350x rear shock with the bracket from muddyx....thanks again.
the rear swing arm is extended 4" and the rear axel is widened with spacers by 5"
thanks
JimmyB.
