    Here is an update!

After about 2 hours here is what I have accomplished:

    Removed:

    *Grab bar
    *Gas Tank
    *Carb
    *Foot Pegs
    *Air box
    *Exhaust
    *alternator

    And disconnected:
    *Clutch
    *Rear brake pedal

    More to come!

I cant figure out how to get the nuts on the clutch cover off? What size bolt are they?

Every screw/nut/bolt is so rusted on this thing, its amazing.

The clutch cover bolts are 8mm.. If you are trying to remove the engine you do not need to pull the clutch cover off. I wouldn't take it off unless the clutch needed replacing or something else was broken.

    I think they're 8mm, but I could be wrong.

5/16 is the same size if you have a standard set kicking about.

thats true. but the 5/16 has some slop when you put it on. she said that there was allot of rust. i wouldnt risk rounding the bolts off.

Bolt police is on the scene....Put that 5/16th down and back away from the metric 8mm rusty bolt.Do not attempt to use a 12 point 5/16 socket.

yay! thanks McDerry! I did have a 5/16 and i got the top bolt off but the bottom one is stuborn and not even inching!

And it looks like there is a bolt that is recest so looks like i need a socket?

or is the bottom bolt the only one left to remove the cover? will wd-40 on it loosen it up? I am afraid of stripping it, as I am clueless on what to do if it gets stripped.
