    A Couple Questions About 250R - Tri-Z Swinarms

    Hello

Will a 86 250R swing-arm and carrier work on a 85 250R ? .. 2nd question are the 85 and 86 Tri-z swing-arms exactly the same . i ask because i have a swing-arm that i was told came off a 85 tri-z however it looks quite a bit different then the OEM swinger that is on my 85 triz at the moment so i am wondering if both years used the exact same or did the design change in 86 ?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me

Not sure if the 85 R axle will work with the 86 carrier but I know the rear brake hardware is different. As far as I've heard you pretty much have to change the whole rear end to make that swap work right. I would think some parts would swap though (rotor hub for example looks the same to me).

The 85 and 86 Z swingers are interchangeable but they are designed differently. The 85 is actually stronger. Only thing you have to change with that swap is the pivot bearings.

The 85R axle won't fit the 86 carrier, but a 86-89 250r axle will fit an 85 carrier.

    Mr.Hall

Can you enlighten me on the trx axle fitting the 85 carrier???
My friend has a lonestar in his 85 and he said it went right in.

I have a RPM dominator out of a 86TRX,that I wanted to put in my 85,but when I sized them up,it looked like I had to too much axle area.Did I just overlook something?
Do they just go right in,with no mods or spacers?

Gameover,I am pretty sure you can use your 85 rear brake caliper on the 86 R swingarm, but you have to use the 86 break caliper bracket. The calipers are the same.

Mosh, the only difference Is the sprocket hub offset Is different. The 86-89 axle will fit the 85 carrier and the chain will line up PERFECT. The gap between the carrier and spocket will be wider though. The offset part of the sprocket hub Is on the Inside (toward's the carrier) on the 85. The offset part of the 86 Is on the outside.

I got the piston In the mail on friday also.
