BigRed Wheelnuts

Hi, anyone know what size/thread the wheelnuts on a BigRed are? Is there a difference between 85 and 86? Clymer suggests a different torque setting for 86 on.

I am almost positive that the 85 and 86 have the same thread but has a slightly diffrent lug nut. More of a style thing. Also i have heard that lug nuts for a metro will fit. But it didnt come from a very reliable source.

I've heard that any machine with a 4/110 bolt pattern will accept Honda Civic stock wheels! You can be rollin' on 20's, be totally gangsta.

Hmm.. interesting idea, bit wary of that as a friend put car wheels on his Moto4 and rubbished the diff somehow!
Main problem is I'm being a cheepskate and don't want to pay $8 per wheelnut from our local Honda dealer, but metric nuts don't seem to fit.

When I went in to our yamaha dealer to see if they could help me (no honda place for 50 miles), they got me some nuts off of from what i recall, their phazer sled ski's or something like that. I dont recall exactly what it was but they had them on hand and they were only like 1.50 or something like that.

Check the thread pitch on the nuts you were looking at. Even metric nuts have a "Fine" and "Standard" thread. ATV's generally use the fine thread example: On a M6 bolt there is a 1.25 and a 1.50 Pitch thread. Honda uses the 1.25 Pitch.

But if you can't find nuts that work, then let me know. I have some, but shipping will be some what costly.

na, you heard wrong, if you get a multi lug rim, you'll have both a 4/100 and a 4/108 we tried to put them on a foreman one day out of boredom. with a little wallowing they might fit.

I know you got your nuts sorted now but when i got my first 200x it came with Ford wheels on yes ford lol

Just a guess, but I'll say 10mm x 1.0 or 1.25 pitch. It is NOT 10mm x 1.50 or 1.75.

A standard 8mm has 1.25 pitch (12mm head) and a standard 6mm (8mm head) has 1.0 pitch.

Just yank out one of those and hold it against the stud threads. UNLESS you have a pitch gauge, a vernier caliper and a chart to understand the sizes.
