    Post Stock 250R Alternator Wattage

For those of you wondering how much the stock alternator can produce, it is 14.5V 159W/5,000 rpm for the '85 and '86 Atc 250R.
    The stock headlight bulbs were: '85 12v 45/45w and '86 12v 60/55w
From what I gather, it appears that you can run the latter bulb in the '85 and be o.k. unless there is something I am not seeing.

No, those numbers are wrong. The stator does NOT produce DC voltage. There is NOT 14.5 volts anywhere in the 250R system - its an AC system that goes around 22 volts on idle and climbs to 45+ at 3000ish.

The regulator is a clamp that limits the AC voltage from blowing the light bulbs at around 2000 Rs, but it does not make DC voltage.

Regardless of where you got them, they are wrong.
