    What's it worth...? 86 Fourtrax 250R

Going to look at this tomorrow...
1986 Honda 250R white and red with racing front plastic. Installed is a LRD full system,Renthal bars, and Sidewinder Sprockets. Will run but smokes a little. Carb needs some adjustment. I hate to sell but running out of space in the garage......
Guy wants $1000 for it OBO, should I scoop it up? Seem to be selling for more than that all over Craigslist.

    "Runs but smokes a little"

Don't all 2-strokes smoke? I say take it before someone else does. Those Fourtrax quads are about the best quads around.

So these were really the cat's meow back in the day? Is engiestuff interchangeable with an ATC 250R?

Some of the engine stuff is. There's a long-rod motor too, I'm not real sure about compatibility.

BUY IT. Thats easily a 3 thousand dollar quad up here. Possibly more.
Definitely grab it, even if he's firm on 1k, do it, any less than that and you would've got the deal of the year up here.
The 250X version goes for tripple that.

smokes a little? umm...if he doesn't know it's supposed to smoke, there might be a small chance he's been trying to run it with little to no oil.

but still, scoop it up, a top end rebuild is nothing

dude if you dont hurry up and buy that machine, I will be on my way to tenneseee to pick that unit up! really thats a good buy, rollers non running and missing motors go for more than that man, the TRX250R is more legendary then even the trikes, production ended in 1989 and the last championship it won was 2004! thats how bad ass they are!

, I missed it too. Someone showed up last night and picked it up. Hope it went to a good place. I was about to list both my 200x's for sale so I could free up the space.

Mark that as one of the biggest misses you've ever had.

I would have never mentioned a good deal like that until after I got it in my garage.
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!

That's okay, I was scrambling to come up with the cash anyway. There will be others......What enticed me was the one that popped up for sale in AZ last week.....

without a doubt the TRX250R is by far the best sport quad ever produced. The owner didn't know what he had. That was definitely worth 3 times what he wanted.
