verry good possibility right there. but also coudl just be moisture in the trans f it was ever sunken. either way put a smallamount of atf to absorb the water and change the oil after abotu 10 min fo runnign tolet theoil warm up and pull allthe moistur eout fo allthe pockets. i have done it religious ly to the quad we have nicknames the yellow submarine

Make sure the breather tube is on your engine! When it's hot and goes through water, it suks in the water to the tranny. Also it doesn't take much water to turn oil milky white and if it hasn't been done, the water pump seal kit is good piece of mind.

I had it happen recently. Thought my water pump seal was going bad but it turned out to be one of the vents was missing so water was getting in when I was washing it. There's supposed to be one tube that comes out of the top of the crankcase that then goes back to a splitter with one tube going down and another going up. The one going up had fallen off without me noticing it and the little three way piece was angled perfectly for water to shoot right in from the hose.

I had this happen once on my 85, pretty sure it was the headgasket because when I changed it, the oil never got any more water in it.
