    Coyote Anyone?

Anyone hunt or shoot coyote before? Our govt. has just recently given us a large season on coyote. Taking the g/f out this weekend for a look on the hills.

Yeah for us from like September to July 12th, 2008 is open season on coyote as long as you use .225 cal centerfire rifle or #2 shot shotgun shells.

Be sure to check the season openings in your area man.

They opened it up in this area a few weeks ago but only for like a weekend. All I know is they said you are allowed to hunt them at night because they're nocturnal.

Here in Ks we have made it quite a sport. Chase them on snowmobiles, atv's or in coyote hoopies custom built pickup just for chasing coyotes.

Ever been prairrie dog hunting? To me that is the best.

    Coyote Hunting

If you can deal with listening to a Rabbit screaming in pain and being tortured then get the rabbit in distress call and set up down wind. I know you have a Billion Rabbits up there in Newfoundland and Im sure you know some people who snare them. If so I will take 4 canned jars of Rabbit and 40 jars of canned Moose I love Newfoundland Anyways get the call and a dead rabbit for the scent and wait and see what happens. We have a ton of Coyotes here in Central N.Y. and thats how we hunt them. I saw 3 during deer season but one was too far and the other 2 were mates and I didnt have the heart. I personally cant deal with the rabbit distress call. Its a nasty sound that just grates on my nerves. You can download the distress calls and get a small megaphone and an I Pod thing and make one at home. Thats what my moms ex did this fall. Worked real good and was cheap.

coyote season is open all year here in PA. we've got a big problem with them around here. killing deer and livestock. Local rod and gun clubs have big coyote hunts a few times a year to try and cut down the numbers.

Some nites I can sit out in the yard and here them howl at eack other across the vally. pretty neet to hear.

A guy I know chased one down and ran it over with an . I would think you'd have to be pretty ballsy for that...but I do live in kansas. My neighbors chase em on dirtbikes, I'm thinkin about tryin it sometime. They say just don't stop when they're under the back tire lol.

I like callin em in at night with a full moon and a fresh snow and drillin em with my .270
