    Cylinder compatability

Did a search and no answer. I want to know if the 85'-87'+ 250R cylinders are the same and can any of them be bolted onto the bottom end of oppisite years? Like can any of those year cylinders bolt right onto the 86' bottom end?

I really shouldn't comment on this cuz I'm not for certain, but I believe that the Trx can bolt onto the '85 and '86 tranny, but you have to run a spacer because the rods are slightly different lengths.

You do indeed need a special conversion spacer plate, but that's it.

it bolts directly on... you just have to use the correct piston for the rod you are using...

My plan is to buy a cylinder off fleabay, have it sleeved with the 310 kit and then install a 4mm crank. Then have it ported for the dunes.

ALL TRX AND ATC CYLINDERS ARE THE SAME,,,, they will bolt on any machine any year,,, the differences are in the pistons,,, short rod motors use a different piston than a long rod motor ,,,but they are the same bore size,,, so you can use a 89 cylinder on a 85,, or visa versa ..............
