My 86 200X carb is really gummed up, so I buy a kit from ebay for it. I get it yesterday, and today, I know 2 new things.
1. A guy with the wrong screw is dangerous.
2. A guy with the wrong screw & a tap is even more dangerous.
The air-fuel screw wouldn't thread in. My knucklehead idea is to run a tap down the hole that matches the new screw. After the fact, the new screw threads all the way down, but it won't seat. THEN, I look at the old screw. It's a different thread & body length. I'm going to try & chase the correct thread down the hole tomorrow when my M6x0.75 tap comes in. I contacted the ebay seller, and they said it's the same kit they install, and have never had a problem. My carb is a PD64A with a C in a square, which falls into the 86 model year. I'm going to reuse the old screw, but what the heck? The kit was made by Moose, so I expect it to be right!?!?
