    Help! (recoil issues)

I have a Honda 185s that i purchased with the recoil guts missing. Well i ordered one of those COMPLETE rebuild kits. I recieved it and to my surprise, it didnt come with the e-clip or the spring that goes on the center stud under the e-clip.

    I have 3 questions,

First, is this some special spring or can i pick one up at a hardware store?

Second, wich way are those 3 pawl springs go? do they go loop out or loop in?

Third, where exactily do those brass washers go?

Thanks for any help you might have.

Hi, you probably could pick one up, just needs to be quite firm. The pawl springs loop out and one washer goes below above spring, the other goes on above the cover plate that sits over the pawls, so it's basically

    washer
    spring
    coverplate
    washer
    circlip

    hope this helps....

I got the spring from my local hardware store, it is a 3/4 inch diameter spring. I cut it down to the right length, got out the c-clamp and pressed it in there. Works great now. Thanks for the info.
