My Big Red 200es has a bent axle and I want to fix it. I have an axle on the way but was wondering if it's a bear of a job to change axles. Has anyone changed an axle on a 1984 200es and is it a tough job? Any special tools needed, any tips.
Thanks

Not too hard, you need a big wrench to undo the axle bolts but i usally use a pipe wrench. you also need a 12mm wrench to undo the 6 bolts from around the diff housing. and i think a 18mm to take off hubs and the tires. Insect the bearings when you take it apart and make sure to grease every little thing when putting it back together. it isn't that tough of a job to do.

you might be able to put the axle under a press and straighten it. i have seen it done with a 200X axle (but not mine), and have heard of others doing it. but just swapping it out, should not be hard at all to do.
