    dumb question about 250sx

    how exactly do you shift? I know it has an automatic clutch. raising the lever up shifts right? and lowering it down shifts maybe? reverse?

    On a 250sx the shifting pattern goes like this:

    5
    4
    3
    2
    1
    N
    R

    So in order to get to first, you click the shift lever up, 2nd gear you click it up again, etc. Theres no clutch, so thats really all you do, is just click the lever into gear. Just make sure you let off the gas between shifts.

    To get to reverse, make sure you are in Neutral, and the machine is not rolling. Press the red "R" button on the left side handlebar brake lever, pull in the handle, and then simply click the shift lever down once, and that should put it into reverse. To get out, just shift up back into neutral.
