    1981 250r

Here is one of 2,1981 250r I have.I stripped down the first one for the frame. But this one I wanted to just install all aftermarket parts to get a feel.I am not putting the extended swingarm and such on.I have enought aftermarket parts and stock parts to make a complete roller. Then I work on the motor.I am using the stock plastic even though it isnt great, but no cracks.I might just finally use all my stickers from years of buying parts.I finally found a good home for the 3ww sticker!! Well this is pretty much what the bike will look like. With the exception of the Dico extended swinger, works shock, heavy duty axle and all aluminum rims. Enjoy

Sounds like it will be sweet! So by the time you have it done Todd will have sold his, is this your way of teasing him? Is this one getting a 300 kit as well?

I was thinking those aluminum rims would look good on a Tri-Moto, I guess I will have to go new when the time comes.

I dont think I am going to use the 300r set up.I got the bike running as is stock.I think that is all I will need.I am trying to build the bikes now for the riding area that is left around here.I still have a complete stock exhaust.I migh even run that.I have always liked the early style 250r.I have had parts saved for a few years.Even before I was able to find a bike to use them on.That is a tripmeter on there. That was a sweet find on ebay for $40 bucks!! I do have another speedo head. But I like the tripmeter. You dont see too many of those used.I have different tires as well. Gotta get rid of those monster ones on there.I like the front tire. But it is very heavy. It has dryrotting cracks but still holds air. Since I bought this

I can now blast all my own parts. It is huge!!!!! You can fit a complete roller inside if you had too.As much as I like powdercoating,It is very expensive nowadays. So,now I will do an edog spray bomb!!!! I am looking to make the bikes look sweet!!! I just need to find the time to keep working on them.

I might have to start a rebuild thread like everyone else does for progress. I also have the NOS fairing kit.I just dont think it is worth it to install on this bike. Anyone wanna buy an NOS fairing kit with the 81-82 250r bracket???
