anyone every heard of this method for fixing dented exhaust

my buddy told me he was reading a arcticle online about fixing dents in 2 stroke pipes. he said you can fill them with water and put them in the freezer to pop them out. sounds strange, but it might work. what methods have you guys heard of?

IMO the water in the freezer trick wouldnt offer much control if it even worked at all... I know this method works:

I've heard it works, but you need to cap the ends off tight
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

I've used the freezer method several times since I saw it in a "tips & tricks" style section of one of the 3-wheeler mags back in the '80s. Some dings and dents will swell themselves out, but it usually took more than one freezing for it to do all it could. Then it sort of depends on where the dent is/how deep it is whether it will come all the way out.

Seems the closer to a weld in a bend of the pipe, the less effective it worked for me. If you try it, make sure that there is no trapped air in it and that it's plugged off tightly for the best results.
