kawi doesn't make a gas cap for the KXT anymore but i'm wondering if all years mojave and T4 cap will fit. the 86 mojave list 2 part numbers one being the same as a KXT, and the other being the same as a T4. so i'm wondering if they updated the cap and the threads are the same. anyone know?

Don't know about that, but----- a 85-86 atc 250r gas cap fits a 84-85 Tecate great! The problem with the first gen caps it the rubber seal/diaphram gets very hard and breaks. The seal is discontinued. Without it it leakes and splashed back and out. 250r caps have an integrated seal and vent, and look great. Just pick which style you prefer, 85 or 86 and your all set.

but the 85 tank cap wont fit on the 86 tank. the 86 tank cap is bigger then the 85. so the 85/6r cap wont fit on the 86t3 tank.

I have a brand new cap off of a Lakota on my 86' T3, I was told that the Mojave cap is the same as well. I ordered mine through bike bandit, works great. No more drinking fuel through a wheelie!

All Mojave, Lakota, and Tecate-4 caps are the same. If you want a billet cap, your best bet is David Roberts at ILR.

How cool is that. I haven't been on the forums in maybe almost a year, and I was gonna ask the same question about the gas cap. Because the cap on my tecate cracked last trip out.
