Worst " I abused my ATC badly, and it held up fine" stories? Let's hear 'em!!

    Here's mine.........it was the same 86 R I still have today.
This was back in summer of 1992.......went with a few buddies with a few mud trucks, and a few ATV's to a local favorite mud hole laden area by Big Bay Michigan, the Little Garlic. It had rained, so the road to the mudholes was nice and sloppy, and by the time we got there, anyone who was riding an ATV in was already a mess, myself included.
We got to the first small mudhole, and watched the guys with trucks play around a while, and it was off to the next hole. We were all messing around on the ATV's, and I was eyeballing a small side mudhole next to the main one the trucks had been playing in. I saw a nice lip, judged distance across, and thought " I'll jump the first half of the hole, and skim across to the other side".
Well, I did make the jump about halfway across, however..........I did not skim the bottom, and make it across. I sank the R in that nasty churned up mudwater, and all that was seen were the handlebars.
Myself and 2 buddies got it out to dry land, where I pulled the plug, and the airbox lid, along with the filter, which I wrung out, and stood it up on the rear grab bar.
Set it back on all 3, kicked the engine over a few times to clear the gunk out, replaced the plug, and filter , and fired it up, while it puked out all kinds of nice white smoke for a bit till the pipe dried out, and the filter as well.
On the way back, I sunk it again, when I slid off a side bank into another hole.]
Same treatment, and down the road we went, to load up and go home for a diet of food and brews.
Never changed the piston afterwards, and it ran just fine, till my complete teardown, and resurection last summer, so say nearly 3 seasons afterward, before I parked it for ages.
That to me is one tough trike!!!
