Honda 250sx rebuild

Honda250sx: That is a great looking machine! She is about as mint as they come. You mentioned you have the speedo kit...where abouts can i find one? Would my honda dealer carry them? I have been wondering if its possible to hook a tach and speedo up to my machine.

here are the pix of what my shaft looks like. I dont see how i can mount it with out it sliding off? Upon further inspection of the pics it looks like there was a stop at the end of the shaft and it has worn off. Maybe i could drill it out and put a cotter pin through it? Ideas??!?!?

That's how they are mounted. There is a spring , then foot pedal, washer and then a cotter pin to hold everything in place.

Honda dealer will no longer be able to get the speedo kits. Your best bet is to try on ebay and of course here in the classifieds. I have a 200x front end. So I use a 200x speedo kit. The speedometer heads are all the same. You just need to find the proper gearbox and cable for your machine.

Couple hundred. You cant get it at the dealer. You must buy off of someone selling one here or on ebay. Then install yourself. They are insanely simple
