hi am am new to this forum and new to trikes i just bought a 83 250r it had a dg pipe, stock gears, at22X11-8 tires, and a 34mm Keihin carb. i have not riden it yet but am putting it all together. what sould i expect??? what can i beat, how fast ?, this is my first trike i am 18

what can you expect? a great time!! there midly fast in 250 form probably 65mph wot that 34 carb will help it out alot, what can you beat, most everything under a 450 that isnt a 2 stroke as well except a blaster you can wax one of those, dont expect to hang with a piped banshee or 450's unless you put a 300 top end on and alot of extra stuff. the main thing holding back the old air foolers is the 5 speed trans, seems there is more motor left but not enough gear at times, also welcome to the boards!

i dont know syko, ill bet a ported/high compression 250 top end along with the other carb/reed mods would run quite nicely with the piped 450's.
but yeah, expect to be able to beat quite a few others out there, and be careful on that thing. it can be quite a handful
