Not bad, but not crazy about it either. I understand it's a prototype but I don't care for the 2 piece idea and the seam running up the front of the tank?
I like the idea without the shrouds built in, I like the first generation tecate cover, (I bought 2).
Color looks like an issue if you have new oem plastic.
I would think that seperate shrouds and tank skin would be a better option.
- my .02 - kudos for coordinating this effort.
hmmmmmmmmmmm, still thinking on this one. kinda undesided on the looks.

I think it looks good and if the price isn't ridiculous I would probably buy one. But I think some of you should keep in mind that that is bare and when you apply decals i bet it would bring the looks right out. Just my .02
i think a one peice for the tank only would be the better option. i would not buy the two peice with the shrouds. it jsut does not look good.
i like the intergrated design of the shrouds and tank as one peice, im just not to keen on the 2 peice design and having a seam down the center of the tank. i am sure with some decals it will look nice. but what if you already have good shrouds and just need the tank covered? think them leather or vinyl tank skins would look better in that situation.

I like it. The shrouds being into the cover I like. Its more of a smooth look. I would think if he did do a one piece it would have to be without the shrouds. But I think with just having a one piece tank cover without the shrouds. It will look sloppy, having the shrouds being bolted over that. A fabric cover will be best if you want to cover just the tank. I think with the two peice too, more area under the tank or behind the shrouds will be covered.
I just need a friggin right rad shroud and if it doesn't cost $125-$300 then I'll buy some. I'll find a big sticker or have one made or cut one and stick it over the seem.

This is not what I expected after seeing the DC plastics tank skin for the 84-85 Tecate, which looked great. I agree that this skin should probably be a 1-piece, tank only skin, that utilizes the stock shrouds. The prototype skin looks good from both sides, but when viewed from above, the shrouds are too flat & don't arc out enough to the sides, and I'm not wild about the seam running down the center of the tank either. As for the color, it looks better than a brown tank, but it's nowhere near the proper brightness of the famed Kawasaki lime green.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the feedback. Most of the pictures are overexposed, which makes the green look more like a light green. This unit is the same color as our original 84/85 tecate tank skin. Don is planning on doing separate shrouds as well. However, we are not going to offer a separate tank skin as the mold would be too big for our forming machine.
well thanks for helping us trikers out!!! we could use more folks like you!!
yeah we could use more people like you. you make the shrouds your going to be flooded with orders!!!

I'm not crazy about the combined tank cover and shrouds. I think if there were a little "seam" molded where there would normally be a break between the tank and the shrouds it may look bettter. Don't get me wrong, it's way better than the other options us Tecate guys have (almost none), but if you're lookin for feedback, that's my .02

There are still mods to be made on this skin. I am going to do a little frankenstein work on this prototype. The shrouds will go out further on the sides, the top of the skins will be trimmed to allow for the turning radius and the color matches the aftermarket and the oem in normal light. Don is right on the camera being overexposed. We are going to work on the top seams as well, but for Don doing this without the trike there, I think that he did a great job. I will keep you guys posted on the progress. Overall, it is way better than any other option that us tecate folks have. Kudos Don!
