Great Solution To your 1982 250r Brakes

Well I'm tired of buying used brake parts just to find out they need rebuilt or are on there last leg. I wanted something new! So while i was surfing ebay looking for brakes, I remembered that most all single piston calipers from honda were about the same along with the mounts so... The gears in my head started turning and I started looking at the new CRF/XR Pitbikes and the front brakes are just about a direct bolt on just need to make the bottom caliper mount hole on your fork leg a little bit bigger. Well that solved the front and I still needed the rear so i started looking at the rear brakes on the Pitbikes and noticed they were dual piston calipers. Well after wanting to upgrade the rears as well I ordered the rear brake system as well and it works awsome just had to make a custom bracket out of stainless steel. I have some pictures so here ya go. I used the complete front and rear systems and they work AWSOME. If anyone wants to do the dual piston rear caliper upgrade and want a template for the bracket I can take mine off and trace it for you. Sorry for the long post heres those pics!

Heres the info from the site:

Up for auction is a NEW brake setup. This setup is highly compatable with XR's & CRF's with disc brakes as well as almost all pitbikes and chinese import bikes including 50cc, 70cc, 90cc, 110cc and 125cc's also with disc brakes. This assembly is the whole package and will include the master cylinder, brake line, caliper, lever and brake pads.

Hey I've been lookin for rear brakes for my machine for quite some time. I got the disc brake mount on my new swingarm so I'm definately goin with disc as i planned. Hey definately get that template on here. I wonder is there anyway a guy could scan the mount or something and send it 100% size and use the paper as a layout or was that what you ment.

that is an awesome find. I've been having the same issue with old 83 250r brake parts. either they're worn out or close to it. I am definately interested in the template you have. and the fact that they are dual piston instead of single is even better. How can i get that template???

Well I have no idea if the bracket I made will work on the 83-84 or not. but if you still want it pm your address and I will send it out once I get time to take it back apart and trace it out!

will do, i figure it's worth a shot. if not, it may be close enough to modify and make it work. even if i have to make my own, the brake set up is a key find.
