To part or not to part

I have a great running 86 200x, and I'm not sure whether to keep it around, or part it out. To make it a weekend warrior, I need to get a kick starter, hook up the rear brakes, & rebuild the back shock. The engine & plastics are all good. It rides fast & furious. I have about $400 in it. Should I keep it around for a spare ride, or part it? My 250SX is my main ride, and the 200X really isn't worth more than $300-$400. I know a few of you have contacted me for parts, but I'm just not sure I want to part a running X. Beat trikes are a no-brainer, but a decent trike is a hard sell.

    Any thoughts?

I wouldnt part it the 86's/87's are the harder ones to find... you could fix it up for a couple hundred bucks and have a trike that IMOA is way better than an SX!

    Current bikes:
    85 1/2 Tri-Z (black/red)
    84 T3 restored
    84 T3 unrestored for gettin'
    84 T3 money pit
    86 350X 13.5:1 full race
    84 250R beater
96 blaster CT sonic 240 kit 38mm airstryker carb 42HP!!
    Past bikes:
    85 TRI-Z
    84 200X
    87 200X
    86 350X
    82 250R
    84 250R beater
    84 TRI-MOTO 125
    83 ATC 110
    70 US 90
    87BW 200( I know its not a trike but...)

i would fix and keep it for sure. unless its real rough, its gotta be worth more than 400 if it runs good.

Honestly, I would keep it and fix it. I have had a decent 1986 here that had a bad motor in it when I bought it, and I am going to hang on to it until I find a good motor. Like said in a previous post, the 1986-1987 models are not as easy to come by. And are pretty much nonexistant here.
