Made for a great day and a better ride, not that you would think so from these pictures.

The WATA group is going down to cliffs on the 5th of April. Anyone is welcome to join. It's going to be more of a family style run. R-N-D that was what I was expecting it to look like. Cliffs in the spring is usually a good time. Looks like that's what you had.

I have to say that I had a great time. The funny thing was that I was thinking that I would go alone if my brother didn't want to go. Well, it's a good thing that I didn't do that. There was one point in which I tried to go up a hill and instead I went up about 3/4 of the way and then tumbled down part of it on the way down. I too expected it to be this way and that's what makes it that much more fun. I would love to join you guys on the 5th but I know that's not possible for me. I certainly hope that you guys have as much fun as I did.

I'm sure we'll be back there again this year. Maybe next time. If nothing else we'll be at the year end event for Fox Valley. We went last year and for a reduced entry fee of $10, a free hot lunch, door prises and some decent riding you couldn't go wrong.

Do they allow trikes at Fox Valley? I've yet to go and I hear a lot about that place. I'd like to bring my trike there is possible but if not, I'll bring my quad. When do they hold this event? I'd definitely like to attend. How is the riding there?

I'm not sure about trikes to be honest we took all quads that day. The riding isn't as good as Cliffs but they have a sweet track to play on and enough woods to hold a harescramble. You can easily kill a day playing around there. The year end event or "play day" is in early November. It's when they hand out the awards for the race season. It's a fun day for anyone. It was our first time there.

    OldSchoolin86,

Could you tell me a bit more about this Harescramble? How does it work, what's it about, and what are the restrictions? Also, can anyone join? Thanks.

It covers 350 acres and is about 70 Miles SouthWest of Chicago. It's not a bad place to ride. One of the few around here so that makes it better than it probably is. However, I enjoy it more and more as I go more often. Have you ever been to the BadLands in Indiana?

Nope, in Indiana Ive only been to Haspin. The cliffs sounds like its only about a 3-4 hour drive for me, maybe some day.

I just wonder if "The BadLands would be a bit closer. It's in Attica, Indiana and it is much better than the Cliffs. It is about 700 acres and it's about 150 miles SouthEast of Chicago. There is all different types of terrain there and it is a blast. We usually go for the weekend to get the most out of it. It's about 2 hours and 40 minutes from Chicago. I would bet that this would be a better choice for you, not to steer you away from the Cliffs though. It is a blast there as well, but I'd have to say that the BadLands blows the Cliffs away. Of course, this is just my opinion. They both have a website. www.thecliffsinsaneterrain.com and www.badlandsoffroad.com. Check them out.

How is Haspin? I'm going to go there for Trike Fest. Are you going to attend? Have you attended before? If so, share some details. It's going to be my first time attending.

I didnt do a terrible amount of riding at Haspin while I was at TF 07, but I did get a good tour of the place on the few rides I did go on.

Its a pretty cool place with 750 acres to ride. Theres a good mix of riding, technical, and leisure. The one thing about it, WHEN it rains, it can be tough to get around on a trike, even in camp!

TF was an absolute blast for me, it was SO depressing to get in the car and come home after that 5 day paradise vacation.

Heres the Haspin site, you can learn a little more on the park:

2 months from today we'll be there!
