tri-z problems

hey guys i am trying to get my swingarm bolt out. it's been soaking for like a week in penetrating fluid and i did get a little frustrated and took the to it but it didn't move at all, is there a type of lock holding it back or is it just being a swingarm bolt.

Try lifting the trike with something(easier if you remove the tires) then tapping the bolt with a nut on one end to loosen it while moving the rear end up and down slightly. Then use something small enough to pass through the bolt hole to tap it all the way out. Dont beat it to death though.

Wow ed it eh. I hope you used a 2lb or a sledge with a punch. Do not mushroom the end! RUST is whats holding you up. How long has it been since the bolt has seen grease? If this is a BARN bike and this is a resto job cut it out.
Mine was locked in tight w/ rust and took a sawzall some heat and lots of swings to remove. The chances this bolt is in good replacement condition is slim. Moshman has a line on some STAINLESS replacement bolts... or look to replace entie bolt with stock...I heard someone is almost finished nylon bushings to replace the needle bearings.

Bolt is most likely not straight...and is bent in an arch from peg to peg. If you spin the bolt check for such out of round movement behind the motor. IF SO the bolt needs to be replaced....cut it!

i dont think its bent but i think i know what my problem is. I think it's rusted to the metal cylinders in the bushings and when i turn it, it turns in the rubber bushings if that helps ?

Just went through this with my R. Heat worked for me, along with the penetrating fluid and a couple of good taps with the nut on the end.

Didn't work for me. Nothing did. Except a sawzall and a chit ton of blades. Ronnie Yama Honda Man has your stainless bolt desires. X.SYSTEM has your nylon bushing replacements. Done deal
