liffan or big bore for the 70?

ok well my 70 is gettin tired and i cant choose what i want to do for a motor. I can get a complete 88cc big bore kit for 300, and a manual clutch kit for like 100.

here the link to the big bore

My son put a 138cc in his 70, He ended up putting 18" tall tires all around (18x11 rear 18x7 front) and a 14 tooth drive gear. It'll run about 50mph and he can wheelie at will. The bigger tires made it much more controllable at the faster speeds. It's pretty fun to ride, but I don't do wheelie's.

We had to do a little machining to use the pull starter off the 70 motor. (which will hurt you if it kicks back, jerk that 3-1/2" wide T handle right out of your fist). Also had to grind out part of the new chain cover for clearance around the flywheel. Converted the stock brake lever to clutch and moved the brake over to the right side. We had the 4 lug hubs, so new 8" rims with 5" side of the offset turned inside.
It was stupid scary with stock size tires, not enough sidewall flex at speed, so the ride was real sketchy on rough road. Now the ride is similar to our 110.
That motor would bolt into a 110 just as easy. It's supposed to make 12 hp.

motor will bolt up, SOME of them will need another intake to make the carb clear the tank. I put a 110 Electric start in one anda 125 electric start in my suspened one. They fit perfect. Dr ATV sell taller front sprokets up to 17 tooth to helpout with the gearing. You can do a pull start conversion laike stated above or use a side cover off a TRX70 or TRX90 f you can find one they have the clearence for the Lifans. There are a ton of threads on this and over at Galmis Dunes.com.There are many small differences in the Chinese motors , like had length , intakes, some have shorter shift shafts, some have different size countershaft sizes, and clutch lever arms vary. Stock exhaust will not work on the electric start but can be modified to work. The Crf50 style pies also can be made to fit or Steardy make one to fit a stock frame 70. Its really not that hard just a little tweaking to get it all to work. Here are some pics and also a pic of a rear seat hinge (not mine).
