O.K. I just picked up a tri zinger and have a few questions on what I have read here on the board. I am going to use this as a camp cruiser/pitbike for myself. I stole this thing off of craigs list for $50 and it runs just wasn't taken care of the best.
The carb leaks and needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. I read that you can put a PW 80 carb on it. My question is will it bolt right on or do I have to modify the intake to make it fit? Also is the jetting going to be close from the PW 80 carb or will I need to jet it close to what the original carb is jetted to? I have a UNI pod filter on it now and I plan on putting the DG pipe and Boyesen reeds on so I figure it will have to be jetted anywhay.
I ordered the PW 50 racing clutch springs and when I install them should I rough up the clutch basket and the clutch disks or will that make them worse? I have done this on a 225DX that the clutch was slipping on and it worked well, just want to get some opinions on this.
I took off the oil injection and I am pre-mixing the gas and I want to get rid of the oil pump and fabricate a cover plate and change the cable to a single carb cable. I am also wanting to go with the 5/8" bars, the PW80 has seperate clamps and bars that might work, are they 5/8" bars? If I go this way is there anyway to bypass the start feature or will I have to keep the stock start stop run switch?
Sorry for all the questions but I have not found the answers by searching. Hope some of you zinger guru's can help. I think this is going to be a fun little project over the summer. And so far what I have seen this is a great site to have stumbled upon.
Later,
Al
