    burning through oil (84 200x)

My friends 200x just got new oil and after riding around we found it was almost less than half! At first we let it idle then tried went up on the clip, still the same. Whats going on? Also his is running HOT, the exhaust got hot enough to boil water after 10min of idling, yet the plug comes out a dark tan?

You need to let it set a minute or to after running before you check the oil. That gives it time to drain down. Unless its smoking, then its time for a topend rebuild.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

Alright I went out and quickly checked his bike, its back down to normal. But what about the heat? Should I take a pic of the plug?

It was running fine until we changed the oil.

pull the rocker cap off and start it ,see if the oil is reaching the top..a easy check.
