Let me know if you guys happen upon another rear end set up like that for next to nothing, i want one for mine...
Thank you. No, I didn't do anything to the shock. The pivot bearings were seized up, making the rear end not re-bound correctly. The pivot bearings is actually why I took on this project. I figured do it all at once.
We thought for sure we were going to have problems with the swing arm bolt. I even got one just incase. But, over the winter, mosh tipped it on it's side and squirted PB blaster down into the bolt. One quick rap witht he air , drove it right out. It turned out, my bolt was fine so I re-used it.

Well, my front hub is just about mint. I have all the OEM peices, to put it back to stock, if I ever decide to. I even have the OEM rear sprocket. I didn't want to PC a nice stock hub. I may find a donor hub later and do that along with my pegs and stuff.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, everybody.

I am truely happy with my new rear end

Yes you have. I, on the other hand, can't say I have seen you ride. I didn't look back to see just how far back behind me you were

Wow, that's a new one. You must be the first person ever to utter those words about an R swingarm bolt.

    Nice job, it looks great.

I'm putting an 86 swinger on my 85 as well. What all parts are needed from the 86 to change over? I have the carrier, axle and brake stay. Will everything else off of the 85 work like the o-rings and the rubber seals that go in at the pinch points? Any other 86 parts that I need?
