the only major parts that work are the motor related stuff and all the rear end stuff and brake parts minus the master cylinder.

86 atc and 86-87 trx rear end stuff is the same

i know i mite get hung for saying this if you have a trx250r frame ,complete front end and plastic and seat stuff. you can rape a 86 atc 250r to make a trx quad

yes, if you use a trx shock make sure you get the linkage for that set up. the bottom bolt are different size. also you will need to space with washers the top bolt because the atc shock mount is wider (use the atc bolt there as the trx bolt is shorter). swingarm, axle and related are all the same.

actually, 86 atc250r's used the bigger bottom linkege bolt too. Also, 87's used the shorter dog bone linkege pieces.

my 86 trx bottom shock bolt was thinner than my 86 atc bottom bolt. had to use the whole trx linkage and trx shock to get it to work. I have heard others say they used the atc linkage with a trx shock and had no problems. This is just what i found on mine.

I'm pretty sure the 88-89 use the different linkage setup
