350X with a pipe and needs Jetting...

So I just threw a Cobra head pipe and aluminum silencer on my X, and boy, my neighbors are gonna be pissed. Man that thing is loud! I have only run it for a few moments, due to the fact that I know I need to do some jetting, but, I have no idea where to begin... The carb is still on the stock jet at 138, Anybody have a recommendation on how much farther to go up?

Why not just run it and see how it performs, and then check the plug. Maybe you can just tune the carb to adjust for the pipe. Just a thought.

    don't do that...

if you tune that bike to run merely by using the airfuel screw, you'll likely toast that engine.

first thing you should do is sell that cobra pipe and put a stock 450r on it. if you're stubborn..

then you'll likely just need a slightly larger mainjet...and might need to raise that needle clip a notch.

You have a 450R pipe you want to swap out for a cobra?

I ran a cobra and now a supertrapp and didn't have to rejet my X either time. run it and keep an eye on the plug.

ANY and all loud and or free flowing exhaust will require jetting changes.

My SX with a Cobra went up numerous sizes on the main and the 450R with the HRC tip on the 3fiddy also needed a sizable change in jetting.

You could prolly just raise the needle a couple notches. Without allowing more air in theres not much need to increase the fuel.

The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.
