    How to tension a chain on a 86-87 200x?

    i want to remove tension from the chain on a 86 200x anyone know how?

    Loosen the 2 pinch bolts, rotate the carrier in the desired direction. Most of them are not maintained and they are seized up, hence the reason so many of them are beat to chit.

    Yes, but don't forget to loosen the one in the middle towards the bottom of the carrier. Most people forget to do this and that's why the all end up getting beat to hell.

    Not true about the bottom bolt.

    The bottom bolt (if it installed properly) is just a stop. It has nothing to do with the carrier rotating for chain adjustment.

    If you hit the stop and the chain is still loose, it's time for a new chain and or sprockets.......

    True, if it's still the factory bolt. I've seen alot of people that have lost the original and replaced it with one that was a little longer. If that's the case you'll need to loosen it. Either way, good luck with your chain.
